The Opportunity – CP/MHPSS Community Engagement and Awareness (Casual Workers)

Post location: Gaza Field Office - Deir al Balah - Subject to change depending on SC priorities

Contract Duration and Level of Effort: Until the end of December 2025


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Represent Save the Children and engage with target groups in mobile PSS locations in close collaboration with CFS facilitators implementing activities in static locations. 

Lead community engagement activities in mobile loctions as the provision Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions, Safe Identification and Referral (SIR) and awareness raising on CP/MHPSS, among others.

Assist CP/MHPSS trainings and workshops on a weekly basis and support on its implementation when needed.

Inform about our child protection activities and support in other sector activities when needed (i.e registrations, distributions, among others).

Identify further needs of the beneficiaries and communicate with SC and other relevant stakeholders. 

Direct the audience to the appropriate staff or entities for assistance in line with Safe Identification and Referral (SIR) procedures and inform the CP/MHPSS supervisor about other relevant services in the area identified.

Support SCI team in data collection 

Meet regularly for supervision with the CP/MHPSS Supervisor to discuss workshop planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation. 

Assist the CP/MHPSS supervisor in making the procurement list and maintain an adequate stock of the location including maintenance. 

Assist with data collection, observation and accountability as set out by the CP/MHPSS Supervisor in close coordination with MEAL teams. 

Arrange appointments for Save the Children staff as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS 

College level education.

Experience in working with children.

Social Work, pedagogy, psychology, education and non-formal education background will be appreciated.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage and handle a complex and varied workload.

Ability to contribute to a small team, motivate staff, work collaboratively with colleagues, and provide support and advice as needed.

Willingness and ability to significantly adjust working hours and collaborate with emergency teams coming from outside the sector.

Cooperate as needed with organization staff, both internationally and within the team environment.

Understand and commit to Save the Children’s vision and mission.

Ability to read and understand simple guidelines, short correspondence, and memos.

Commitment to Save the Children’s values.

Ability to communicate in Arabic.

Ability to use minimum level of English.

Desirable: 


Any previous experience in working within the MHPSS programs.

Ability to use minimum level of English.
