Type: Full Time Fix Term Contract
Duration of the contract: 3 months, with a possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability.
Job Location: GAZA Strip, Palestine
Reports to: Projects Manager/ technical link with MHPSS referent

Summary:
Médicos del Mundo-Spain (MdM-S), is an international humanitarian organization, working to make effective the Universal Right to Health. MdM is a non-profitable, non-governmental, non-political and non-confessional organization operating under the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence.
MdM-S has been working in the oPt since 2006. Its work has been oriented to Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS), and Primary Healthcare. In the Gaza Strip, MdM-S strategy aims the improvement of mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. This intervention is focused on the strengthening of governmental children and adolescent’s mental health services, and community organizations working with children and adolescents through a capacity building approach. This includes training activities and materials and equipment’s provision.
Specific Objective:
The objective of this position is to deliver comprehensive psychological services to the affected population at Medical Points, Primary Health Care (PHC) centres supported by MDM-S, or other MDM-S intervention sites.
Functions
Operational tasks and responsibilities
Provide MHPSS assessments and individual counselling, including follow-up sessions.
Refer cases requiring more MHPSS specialized services as needed.
Conduct awareness-raising activities and provide psychoeducation.
Facilitate group MHPSS activities for children, adolescents, and adults.
Perform data entry using MDM-S’s tools.
Identify best practices, lessons learned, and provide recommendations.
Participate in technical supervision and capacity building opportunities.
Program support
Assist in the analysis of data collected during program activities.
Contribute to the preparation of reports.
Networking
Coordinate with staff from MDM chapters, INGOs, NGOs, and CBOs.
Advocacy functions
Additional tasks and responsibilities
Attend team meetings and provide input.
Prepare contingency plans with the team.
Conduct training in MHPSS when necessary.
متطلبات الوظيفة
Academic / Professional background:
Proved experience in counselling
Master's degree or Advanced Mental Health degree is an asset
Minimum 3 years professional experience in relevant field
Experience with local/INGOs in MHPSS or community intervention
Experience in assessments, beneficiary selection, case management
Experience collaborating with MoH, MoEHE, MoSD, and civil society
Experience in community engagement
Good knowledge of Protection issues
Excellent Communication skills
Experience in training and staff capacity-building
