Action Against Hunger is recruiting for the Gaza strip a
WASH Deputy Program Manager GAZA Strip
General Objective:
The AAH WASH programming aims to sustain resilient Palestinian communities by supporting individuals and communities facing violence, natural hazards, and conflict; facilitating access to basic services, promoting rights and community planning under the context of occupation and blockades; and influencing national and international stakeholders to take the best course of action in relation to Palestinian water issues. In the framework of WASH programming to support vulnerable households and communities as well as the WASH service providers in the Gaza Strip, the WASH Deputy Program Manager will lead, in collaboration and with the support of the WASH Program Manager, the operation of the WASH Department ensuring quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all activities, following up on and feeding into the WASH strategy 2022-2025 and mission strategy, including identification of appropriate new interventions, and capitalization process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree and/or Master Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water, Mechanical Engineering, Public Health or related field.
Excellent knowledge of WASH interventions including water supply systems, sanitation and hygiene practices.
Experience and/or knowledge of water and sanitation infrastructures will be valued.
Strong technical knowledge in WASH principles, practices and standards.
Demonstrated technical experience in implementing WASH interventions.
Must have demonstrated skills/knowledge in participatory approaches, analytical and gender – fair thinking
Significant experience in working in collaboration with local partners and government bodies.
Excellent knowledge of project cycle management.
Ability to identify possible new activities and elaborate proposals for new projects, considering an integrated approach with other sectors such health, nutrition or livelihood.
Strong communication and report writing skills.
Strong staff management and leadership skills, and demonstrated experience in coordination.
At least 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing Water Sanitation & Hygiene System in development and/or humanitarian projects in the NGO/INGO sector.
Good knowledge of INGOs and donor agencies procedure, guidelines and intervention in the country.
Previous knowledge of Action Against Hunger policies, strategy and previous interventions in the country or region is an asset.
English and Arabic (compulsory working language, fluent spoken, read and written)
DPM will be based in Gaza with travel to different ACF bases in Gaza Strip.
Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality

Based in: Gaza Strip – (Middle Area or South).
Salary: according to Action Against Hunger salary scale.
We provide workman compensation and health insurance.
In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
