Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries to populations in distress, to victims of natural or manmade disasters, and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of religion, creed, or political affiliation.
To support our activities in Gaza-North, we are seeking a NURSE.
Main Purpose
Providing nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.
Accountabilities
- Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/precautions...
- Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions...
- Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team...
- Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted...
- Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization
- Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients...
- Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents...
- Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance...
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment...
- Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners...

- Performs nursing activities required for patient care...
- Keeps adequate recording of received and used supplies...
- Maintains a high standard of infection control...
Wound Care and Dressing
- Perform thorough assessments of patients with wounds...
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of wound healing...
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques...
Nutrition
- Conduct Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) screenings...
- Record and interpret MUAC measurements accurately...
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records...
Collaboration
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals...
Emergency
- Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies within the MSF settings...
متطلبات الوظيفة
Education
- Essential recognized nurse degree/diploma.
- Desirable Bachelor in Science of Nursing.
- Current nursing license in Palestine.
Experience
- 2 years of clinical nursing is required. Having worked in MSF is highly desirable.
- Experience in conducting MUAC screenings/nutrition/NCD/wound care is highly desirable.
Language
- English is required.
Competencies
- Good communication skills and maintaining effective working relationships...
- Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure...
- Adequate computer skills.

Accountabilities
- Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention...
- Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed...
- Follow up the evolution of the hospitalized/IDP patients...
- Check and control the rational distribution of medicines...
- Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data...
- Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team...

- Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis and prevention...
- Ensure a medical follow-up of quality and if necessary refer to other health facilities...
- Apply hygiene standards in all medical activities...
OPD
- Ensure quality consultation and care for all OPD patients...
- Take the history and perform a physical examination of patients...
- Ensure comprehensive documentation in the patient’s medical file...
Emergency Room (ER)
- Provide immediate medical care for emergencies...
- Ensure rapid and accurate documentation of all emergency care...
Organization and team management
- Check the good course of medical activities within the structure...
- Organize and work in collaboration with other services and departments...
Monitoring and Reporting
- Ensure and supervise the correct imputation of data...
- Participate in the development of the plan of action...
متطلبات الوظيفة
Education
- Recognized medical doctor bachelor's degree and a current license to practice medicine in Palestine.
Experience
- 2 years experience minimum as a Medical Doctor or in clinical work.
Languages
- Fluently in English orally and in writing (essential).

- Computer literacy using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and OneDrive
