The Mechanical / Electrical Technician reports to Central Administrative Services Officer.
Responsibilities
- Operates, maintains, and repairs the Central Air Conditioning and Heating Systems at HQs/Field compounds, as needed;
- Repairs the Mechanical/Electrical installations and ensures the proper operation of the stand-by power systems;
- Prepares list of requirements for spare parts and consumables needed for all Mechanical/Electrical systems; coordinates their purchase and may participate in their procurement committees as needed; supervises their storage;
- Checks the safety of installed equipment against possible fire and damages and provides advice on how to improve and protect;
- Checks and registers all major equipment and keeps record of repairs and maintenance carried out; issues work permits, and properly reports any maintenance/repair works before/after every commencement of such works;
- Keeps updated records for all user manuals, diagrams, equipment catalogues, piping and other related technical drawings;
- May participate in technical evaluation of maintenance contracts, in coordination with related staff of Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Programme.

Education
- Successful completion of diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or related fields from an accredited educational institution.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related field is (Desirable).
Work Experience
- At least six years practical experience in the repair and maintenance of air conditioning systems specially the water chillers, fan coil units and heating systems, related electrical connections and building installations.
- Good knowledge of Hebrew (Desirable).
Languages
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Condition of service: Monthly basic salary US$ 1050.20. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
